Students and teachers of Advanced Secondary School Masindi on Thursday afternoon kicked off a one week victory campaign that started by cleaning up Masindi main hospital.
Led by their school director Goodman B Faruk, students and teachers swept around the out patient department, the orthopedic department and health workers’ quarters.
The school is celebrating her victory after having emerged as the second best preforming school in Masindi district when senior six exams for 2015 were released by UNEB.
The school produced second best student within the district, Mike Mwesigwa who did History, Economics, Geography and sub Math got 17 points in the lasts years UACE Exams and was the second best overall in the district.
Goodman said that, cleaning Masindi hospital was among other activities they will carry out during their victory week. He said some other activities are career guidance, HIV Testing and counseling playing football matches with community members in Kimengo Sub County before having their main party on the 14th of April 2016
He notes that this is one way of giving back to the community for the moral support they have given to the school during its two years of existence.
“We want to give back to the community for the support they have given to our school and as part of our social corporate responsibility, we have decided to carry out a range of activities before having our main party top cerebrate our victory,” Goodman said.
He added that all the best students in last years exams in both S4 and S.6 will be rewarded during their victory party in April with cash ranging from shs500, 000 to shs100, and 000 to motivate other students to perform well.
Goodman appealed to other owners of private’s schools in the district to emulates his example of giving bursaries to need students and rewarding best performing students to motivate other students to better if we are to increase on the number of students getting good points and grades in both S.4 and S.6.
